The last bit of our
journey this year took us through Atlanta. We fly home from here on the
15th. | |
|
Roads in American cities are busy but here we have seven lanes and traffic
is flowing smoothly. Going the other way it is totally clogged up and the
jam is almost five miles long. |
This was an extraordinary
RV at our last stop at McDonagh. The sides have a vinyl wrap which contains
photographs of favourite places the owners have been. They are as travelled
as we are and we recognised many of the places.
|
The map has little dots showing where each photograph was taken. The back of
the RV is covered in pictures of Nascar since they had both raced in their
earlier days. |
The other side is covered
in military pictures mainly aircraft carriers on which he had served and
actual aircraft he had helped maintain. Everyone comments on this RV. They
left the following morning.
|
Ours is much more non-descript particularly since we have now covered it up
and put it into store. It will stay here until we return for our next
voyage. |
We got a lift to the
airport at Atlanta. This is the new international terminal. It is linked to
the other five terminals and the domestic terminal by an underground train.
The airport is reputed to be the busiest in the US.
|
We spotted this display of glass as we visited the terminals looking for
somewhere to eat. We actually arrived there six hours before our flight
departed so we had time to kill. |
Another glass display,
these are pieces by Chihuly, whose work we have seen before in the gardens
at Phoenix. | |
|
Atlanta's Hartsfield-Jackson international airport is the base hub for Delta
airlines but many others fly here. We flew home with British Airways on a
Boeing 777. Until next time..... |
