November started with us in Las Vegas. There is no easy way
to get to San Francisco because of the mountains in the way. We have been
north via Lake Tahoe so this time we went south via Bakersfield and then up the
central Sacramento valley. This is the agricultural heart of California. We
visited the Napa and Sonoma Valleys just to the north of San Francisco, then we
headed for the ocean. We drifted south as the weather cooled. San Francisco was
free of fog so we were able to see the bridge this time which was one of our
principle aims this year. We drifted south until it was time to head back to
Phoenix for the Thanksgiving holiday. There we remained until we returned to
England in mid December. We covered about 1500 miles this month giving a total
of about 4600 for the year. Less than usual but we have spent a lot of time with
friends this year. |
