We moved on, stuck behind this for 20 miles, along
with the n cars behind us. Few of them even tried to get past.

They do seem to like the garish colours. I don't think I'd paint my house
like this, or even my business! |
And even with a gym would I want a 16ft lookalike
model of Marilyn Monroe outside
flaunting my wares? There's no accounting for taste....
|
We passed through Puerto Vallarta. This is another big tourist resort full
of condos etc with nowhere to park an RV and no signs showing you the way through. |
No, its not a sports stadium, but is in fact a
shopping mall. We nearly had a disaster because we mistook the entrance to
their underground carpark for the one we wanted to Walmart next door.
Fortunately a quick witted policeman blew his whistle and redirected us. We
look for Walmarts because they usually have car parks big enough for us to
get into. | |
|
The side of tourist cities that we are not really interested in. Sales in
these will be targetted at Americans who will buy despite what most of them
think about Mexico. Sales of properties like these is big business worth
billions of dollars each year. |
A chain of clubs and restaurants known as the Senor
Frog's. We have seen them in several places now. Started by restaurateur
Carlos Anderson. | |
|
A typical load for a pickup truck. They even have bars up at waist level for
them to hang on to. |
Then the road surface changes. What we should have
realised is that this is where we missed the turn. However we followed the
flow and got lost. In a 30ft RV, back streets can be a problem!
|
But we did end up alongside the promenade with its collection of sculptures which seem
so popular in Mexico. |
All sorts of things, some quite comical. I would need
some serious research to work out what this is.
|
Not all art is permanent. These sand sculptures are only transitory. There
were almost two dozen on display. Jan did well to get these between palm
trees from a moving RV. |
Modern art! And I never did understand such things. I
wonder if they are actually comfortable to sit on?
|
At least this is recognisable as a sea horse.... |
They do like their porpoises to have fun. We moved
on down the coast. | |
